Project Overview
Leithal Designs embarked on the journey to craft a bright and invigorating office environment tailored to the delight of both the staff and the owner. Our aim was to fashion a serene haven where employees would eagerly embrace their workdays matching the overall character of the people that work there. The office aesthetics seamlessly blended with their daily routines, incorporating elements inspired by grains and coffee that beautifully complemented their company’s identity.
Design brief
Leithal Designs was commissioned by Australian Choice Exports to manage the interior fitout of their new office, which included overseeing the tender process for selecting a builder. Our engagement spanned the entire project lifecycle, starting with an initial site assessment. Subsequently, we collaborated closely with the client from the initial design concept phase to the detailed documentation phase, which involved specifying fixtures, fittings, and all finishes and soft furnishings for the space.
The original property presented itself as a small, dilapidated office space with worn-out carpets, outdated ceilings, and antiquated offices throughout. Additionally, it had an unpleasant pungent odor that needed to be addressed during the renovation process.
Design Statement
To clearly articulate the approach to delivering the client brief while satisfying expectations and meeting key objectives, Leithal Designs employed a comprehensive and client-centric strategy. The approach involved the following steps:
1. Thorough Client Consultation: Leithal Designs initiated the process by conducting in-depth consultations with Australian Choice Exports. This step aimed to understand the client’s vision, requirements, and expectations for the office space. By actively listening to the client’s needs, Leithal Designs gained valuable insights that formed the foundation of the project.
2. Detailed Needs Analysis: A meticulous analysis of the client’s brief was conducted, identifying the specific requirements and key objectives outlined by Australian Choice Exports. This analysis encompassed factors such as functional needs, aesthetic preferences, brand identity integration, and any unique features essential to the client.
3. Creative Concept Development: Leithal Designs crafted innovative and tailored design concepts based on the gathered insights and requirements. These concepts were not only aesthetically pleasing but also aligned seamlessly with the client’s brand identity and the serene, invigorating environment envisioned by Australian Choice Exports.
4. Transparent Collaboration: Throughout the design and development phases, Leithal Designs maintained transparent communication with Australian Choice Exports.
Regular updates, design presentations, and collaborative discussions were conducted to ensure that the client remained informed and engaged in the decision-making process.
5. Attention to Detail: Every aspect of the project, from fixtures and fittings to finishes and furnishings, was meticulously planned and executed. Leithal Designs paid careful attention to detail, ensuring that the final outcome not only met but exceeded the client’s expectations. This included addressing the challenges posed by the existing rundown office and resolving them effectively.
6. Quality Assurance: Quality was a top priority throughout the project. Leithal Designs selected high-quality materials, engaged skilled craftsmen, and maintained rigorous quality control measures to ensure the final deliverables met industry standards and reflected the premium quality expected by the client.
7. Timely Project Management: A well-defined project management plan was implemented to ensure timely completion of the office fitout. Regular progress assessments and milestone tracking were conducted to guarantee that the project adhered to the agreed-upon timeline, meeting the client’s deadlines and expectations.
8. Client Feedback and Iteration: Leithal Designs actively sought feedback from Australian Choice Exports at various stages of the project. Client input was valued and incorporated, allowing for necessary iterations and refinements to the design and implementation, ensuring the final result perfectly aligned with the client’s vision.
By following this meticulous and client-focused approach, Leithal Designs successfully delivered an office space that not only satisfied the client’s brief but also exceeded their expectations, meeting all key objectives outlined for the project.
Design Specification
Thoughtful consideration and expertise were applied to create comprehensive specifications for the entire fitout. This encompassed a wide array of elements, including carefully chosen paint options, innovative ceiling designs, diverse flooring alternatives, stylish new window treatments, unique distinctive features, doors, walls, and intricately crafted joinery elements. Attention to detail extended to elements such as bulkheads, pelmets, LED light fittings, and recessed TV wall features. This meticulous approach also involved the creation of a detailed finishes schedule, FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment) schedule, and a loose furniture schedule, ensuring a cohesive and well-coordinated design implementation. Importantly, all selections were made with a keen eye on meeting our client’s budget requirements, ensuring both creativity and financial prudence.

We went the extra mile by handling tasks like picking up ordered picture frames and delivering them to the site, ensuring every detail was attended to meticulously. We proactively liaised with suppliers, ensuring they met our client’s specific needs. Additionally, we took charge of ordering soft furniture on behalf of our client, investing countless hours to guarantee their seamless integration into the final design. Our consistent consultations facilitated a smooth coordination process, allowing for the seamless integration of various design elements. Notably, our extensive communication with the signage team via emails and phone calls ensured the precise implementation of signage elements that harmonized with the overall design theme.
